Save Hockinson Off leash Park ::.
Dear Commissioner:
I am very concerned at your recent decision to eliminate the off leash area from the Hockinson/China Ditch Park master plan. Our community Parks program needs to offer an area where dogs and their owners can play and exercise. Throughout the United States, communities have become aware of the importance of having designated off leash areas included in their park systems. Unfortunately, Clark County has been one of the last communities to provide this for their human and canine citizens.
I strongly encourage you to reinstate the 6.7 acres of off leash area back into the Northeast corner of the Hockinson Park Master Plan. The terrain (larger and dryer), proximity to parking and adjacent trails are only a few reasons why it should stay in this location. I would ask you not to override months of research, planning and community input that chose this site as the optimal spot for the Off leash area for the Hockinson Park.
