It is extremely important to not be using that site until it is officially opened. There is a neighborhood group that has filed a petition to prevent us from moving in and they have been photographing folks who have been illegally using the site. There are big concerns about the impact to the neighborhood from the folks on NE 3rd street. Once the site has opened it will be critical that everyone is responsible and follows the rules. Please review the rules on the Dogpaw web site for park use. If you observe others who are not respecting the rules, we should all speak up to make folks aware of the rules. We do not want to loose the privilege of using this site because some folks are being irresponsible. We will be sending out an e-mail and have signage out when Vandervoort is available for use. We will be able to use the current temporary site at Pacific until the end of February and then it will be closed. The Dogpaw annual membership meeting is on Wednesday March 5th at 6:30pm at the Fort Vancouver High School commons area at 5700 East 18th Street. Every member who attends will receive a FREE great book called "Visiting the Dog Park" by Cheryl Smith (a $12 value, one per household). You will hear about the new off leash development in the county from Pete Capell, Clark County Public Works Director. You will hear from Shane Davis, dog trainer who is working with Dogpaw, about FREE classes for Dogpaw members. We will hear from Sgt. Joe Graff, Vancouver Police Department and meet one of the great police dogs that serves our community. We need you all to show up and show your support for off leash parks. You will have the opportunity to ask questions of your Dogpaw board, as well as representatives from Animal Control, Parks department, Police deparment, etc. We will also have Dogpaw hats and shirts available for purchase. We look forward to large turnout of Dogpaw members!! **************The year's hottest artists on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. Go to AOL Music.
